How to Work on a Page
- Click on the Edit This Page button at the top of the page
- Add text, pictures, videos, files, links to webpages and media.
- Click Preview to see what the page will look like before saving.
- Click Save
How To Add Text:
- Click and type where you want the text to appear.
- Use the formatting buttons on the toolbar.
- Click Preview to see what the page will look like before saving
How to Add Pictures, Videos and Files
- Click the image icon which looks like a tree in a box
in the toolbar to add a new link.
- Click on External Link and type or paste the web URL
How to Create and Link to a New Page or Link to an Existing Page
- Highlight the word you'd like to link to.
- Click on the Add Link icon
in the toolbar to add a new link.
- To link to an existing page, pull down and select the page name you would like to link to.
- To create a new page, either keep the name of the word you highlighted or write a new page name.
How to Link to A Place on a Page (Anchor)
- Find the place where you would like the anchor.
- Type in this code:
- Replace the word anchor with a name for the anchor.
- Click Save.
- Create your link and type in the name of the anchor.
How to Embed Media (such as YouTube videos)
- When editing any Wikispaces page, you'll see a button on the toolbar that looks like a television
.
- Click it, and paste the HTML from any embeddable web service in the box.
How to Undo
- You can't actually Undo something you just did like in a word processor, but you can revert back to the page before you saved it.
- Click on 'history' on top of the page you want to revert
- Select the version you would like to go back to, by clicking on the revision in the date column
- Click 'revert to this version' at the top of the page
How to Create a Personal Icon
Students LOVE to personalize their icons and doing so is easy. Here is how:
1. First, they need to find an icon that they want to use. Here are some safe links
to find kid’s icons. Your students may know of other places to find icons.

2. Next, they need to save the icon to their computer. Windows: Point your cursor
to the icon and right click. A menu will appear. Click on Save Picture As. Save
the picture to the desktop or a folder.
3. Log into the wiki. After students log on with their username and password, they
need to click on My Account in the upper right corner of the screen. That will take
them to their user information. They should not change anything on that page,
however, if they click on Change Picture in the upper left corner they can upload
the saved picture for their icon by clicking on Browse, finding the picture on the
computer, then clicking Upload. After that, the students will be prompted to
complete the uploading process.
